I am extremely excited to be part of this small, local group of artists exhibiting in the beautiful church of St. Peter, St. Paul & St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at Coughton Court!
I am showing a collection of small oil portraits which are part of my ongoing project to complete one hundred such paintings. Accompanying these are some local landscape paintings also in oils most of which are completed en plein air.
The work on display is representative of my style which celebrates the richness of colour and texture of this beautiful medium. I tend to work alla prima as I love the spontaneity and expressive quality of the finished painting (or is it just that I’m impetuous?)
Also on display are some of my sketchbook journals which contain a variety of pen and wash and pencil drawings recording memories or jottings of places visited.
