Artform: Collage
I work with torn pieces from newspaper print, magazines, and other bits and pieces like maps, CD inserts, and old books.
My subjects are drawn from nature and include detailed studies of bees, bugs, and birds alongside larger-scale compositions of sailing boats and portraiture. I enjoy the (often accidental) effect that hidden imagery has on my work giving the pieces a dimension beyond that of the immediate image on the canvas.
The more you look into a collage picture the more you see. It really is a fascinating medium.
