PLEIN AIR EVENT 14 SEPTEMBER 2025 – COMPTON VERNEY
For our fifth Plein Air event, we will be in the glorious grounds of Compton Verney – Britain’s leading art gallery in a park. Set within 120 acres of grade II listed parkland designed by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, be inspired by the mansion house, lake, coppice, meadowland and treelined avenues.
Whereas most Plein Air events tend to be restricted to paintings or drawings, we encourage artists to engage in their surroundings and produce a creative piece in response in any 2D or 3D art form. In 2024 it included paints, pastels, pencil, felt, print, photography and textiles. Visitors to Charlecote wandered around and saw the art in action. At the end of the day the artwork was displayed in a pop-up exhibition and the judges selected their favourites.
The 2025 prizes are:
– WOS Prize – opportunity to take part in WOS Summer Art Weeks 2026
– Art in the Park Prize – opportunity to exhibit at their 2026 event
– LSA Prize – opportunity to exhibit in either the East Lodge or LSA Art Room
– San Stae Emerge Prize – £100 voucher
– Highly Commended Awards
– Compton Verney People’s Choice Award – Voucher

ENTER NOW – DEADLINE 13 AUGUST
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
There are three different categories that you can sign up for. If you’re an established artist who has exhibited and sold your work, there’s a £10 fee to participate. If you’re under 25 or an artist at the start of your creative journey, then it’s FREE to take part as this event is about bringing all levels of abilities together.
You will need to set up an account on the website, or sign into your account if you already have one. Once you have done this the buttons to book your place will appear. You don’t have to be a WOS registered artist. Full details about the event will then be sent to all artist after the closing deadline.
Any queries please contact pleinair@warwickshireopenstudios.org
