Exhibition and News
Step into my peaceful garden art room and discover a collection of original paintings inspired by landscapes, coastlines and the natural world. Working mainly in watercolour and acrylics, I aim to capture atmosphere, light and a sense of place, from dramatic coastal scenes to tranquil countryside views.
Alongside original artwork, visitors will find prints, greetings cards and, new this year, a selection of handmade ceramics created by myself and other local makers.
My studio is set within a shady garden, offering a calm retreat during your Open Studios visit. Enjoy refreshments, cakes and browse a variety of plants while enjoying the artwork, or have a go with watercolours yourself and unleash your creativity! You can also meet our friendly bantams roaming our garden.
As a Trustee of Priory Pools Community Centre, I am also raising funds to support the creation of a new community hub for Warwick. Donations from refreshments and plant sales, together with proceeds from ceramic sales, will support the Centre’s Crowdfunder Appeal. You can find out more here and any donation from £1 to £250 would be amazing! https://communitiesfund.avivafoundation.org.uk/p/ppcc
Visitors can expect a warm welcome, a relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to explore art in a unique shady garden setting.
Biography
Nature and travel are at the heart of Janette’s creative practice. Inspired by landscapes, places visited, and details observed along the way, her work combines a variety of techniques and materials to explore colour, line, and texture.
Working with watercolours and inks, Janette creates sketch-line pieces that capture the essence and atmosphere of a scene. Her acrylic paintings are more layered and experimental, using colour and collage to build dynamic, expressive compositions.
Recent ceramic work takes these ideas into three dimensions, extending her interest in surface, form, and the natural environment.
Each piece reflects a continuing journey of exploration, experimentation, and connection with the world around us.
