John Hunt, Carey Moon and I are jointly exhibiting in this Regency space overlooking Clarendon Square. As members of a small drawing group, we have come to mutually appreciate each other’s work and aesthetic. Experimental approaches, informed by an ever growing understanding and interest in contemporary art, underpins our creative endeavours.
Exploring potentials of papier-mâché as a medium in the creation of interactive sculptures is currently the focus of my own work. I love that I can make 3-D forms with no special equipment, limited space and also utilise up-cycled materials and found objects; it is an extremely flexible, accessible and haptic art form.
Concerns and cogitations in relation to contemporary developments: environmental, social, political and digital underpin the concepts behind dynamic, interactive and tactile fabrications.
