My passion is street photography – although not always involving a street but invariably involving people to help make every image unique. I also appreciate the urban environment and the local landscape I encounter through walking the dog.
Many images come from my travels – I have lived and worked in several parts of the world and visited many others. Recent travel is closer to home, often back to my roots in London and to the nearer European cities.
I wonder about the people I encounter– who are they – where are they from – why are they there? I enjoy the opportunity to stop, chat and get the answers but the more natural images often come from not disturbing thoughts or interrupting conversation.
Current challenges are exploring a greater degree of creativity through use of time and movement – trying to go beyond ‘the moment’ and am trying more formal portraiture – I intend to have a ‘pop up’ studio at WOS ready to take images of those passing through.
