From her garden studio Caroline’s surreal work is inspired by sights in nature which speak to her pareidolic imagination. Her images touch gently on human frailties, are a quirky comment on life or because she sees something she is drawn to recreate. She uses titles that inform the story within her images. Her work is purely from the heart, uninfluenced by fashion or popular style.
Oil paint matches the flow of her thoughts, starting with an initial idea that transforms as she works. Her paintings can take months to complete & she often works on several pieces in tandem. She likes working in ink or watercolour, revelling in the knowledge that a mark made must be kept & embraced within the final piece, challenging her skills. Caroline reproduces many images as prints, cards & other items.
Caroline’s experience includes exhibiting across the UK, Europe & US, running a large art trail & Artists Café in Somerset, and curating exhibitions. She is a member of the VAA.
