I am passionate about painting seas, skies and land, and love spending time in my beloved St Ives, where the weather is always changing. I love seeing the weather pounding the land and sea. I also love Iceland and have been on several photography trips there in recent years.
I paint in mixed media, acrylic and oils, and my aim is not to capture a literal representation of the landscape but to capture the feeling of it, a fleeting impression as it passes through.
I have been painting for about 30 years, and doing Warwickshire Open Studios since 2013.
This September I will again be exhibiting in St. Ives along with 3 other artists. We all did the Porthmeor Programme together in 2023, a wonderful in depth course at the St. Ives School of Painting. It gave me space to go deeper and discover what I wanted to paint. It was a wonderful experience, and we have enjoyed exhibiting together since then.
I will be there 4 – 11 September, in the Borlase Smart Room at the School of Painting.
