Art at the Alex
Region: Rugby
Artform: Collage, Drawing, Mixed media, Painting
From a child, I was encouraged to be curious about the natural world, and since then have concentrated in my art on depicting wildlife and wild places, mainly in Britain.
After teaching art for some years, I have concentrated on my own work for the past 40 years.
I work in acrylic and watercolour, pastel and other drawing media, and have developed my own style of mixed media 3D papercut.
I exhibit regularly throughout the country, from London to Gloucester and the Wirral, and locally with The Rugby and District Art Society and Rugby Artists and Makers.
I have won many Awards, and have been a Finalist in the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year in 2022 and 2024.
I enjoy giving talks and demonstrations, and teaching workshops.
I shall be demonstrating daily during Summer Art Weeks, and enjoy talking to visitors about my work, and explaining my techniques.
