John Scott Martin PRSMA, RBA, PPRBSA, FRSA is currently president of the Royal Society of Marine Artists. He creates paintings and linocut prints of vessels at sea, working from his own photographic images. The linocut prints are unusual in that they are printed on handmade papers, making each print unique in itself.
Another major inspiration for John is mining. As an art student he started depicting images of the mining landscape in Cornwall, and in the late 1990’s worked with the National Trust on their mining locations in Cornwall.
John’s works are in collections in Europe, Scandinavia and the USA.
