Stratford Contemporaries
Region: Stratford-upon-Avon
Artform: Drawing, Painting
Oliver studied Art at Penwith College Penzance, Falmouth College of Art, in the early 2000’s and at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, 2013-14.
Focusing for many years on portraiture and figure drawing, Oliver’s first landscape paintings were made at the end of 2021, and this has now become the main focus of his work.
Turning professional in 2024, he has quickly gained prestigious gallery representation in the Cotswolds, Warwickshire, and in his former home of Cornwall.
A plein air and studio painter in oils, water is almost always at the heart of his painting, enjoying the challenge of depicting light upon it and the fascination of what may lie beneath.
Drawing on his time working in wildlife conservation, and as an oyster farmer/mussel fisherman, he aims to create a feeling of immersion in his landscape paintings, finding inspiration in the romance and dangers of the commercial fishing industry in Cornwall.
