I have been painting for over 25 years, and am passionate about the whole process of creating images. I love creating expressive and atmospheric work rooted in the natural world – sea, sky, and land. I work mainly in mixed media as well as oil, and my paintings are inspired primarily by the coast around St. Ives (one of my favourite places for nearly 30 years), as well as Iceland and also more local landscapes. I enjoy capturing the feeling of a place rather than a literal representation of it, and I work from my imagination as well as from ‘being there’.

I also love photography and have been taking photographs since my 20’s I love the feeling of being outside in the ‘weather’ and capturing a moment of drama or shifting light in the landscape. I see my paintings and my photography as two distinct creative paths, and have been exhibiting both for many years.

For my ‘day job’ I am an Arts Psychotherapist and love seeing how the creative process can facilitate healing.
