Wren Hall
Region: Warwick
Artform: Glass
Creating fused glass is an addictive occupation and a great creative outlet. For me, it is all about how the colours will react in the heat of the kiln and then afterwards in the sunlight. There are many different techniques and lots of different types of glass to explore. Because of this, I find it a fascinating subject with endless possibilities.
I enjoy cutting intricate shapes from sheets of glass to makes colourful, transparent bowls, or playing with a mixture of transparent and opaque to cast interesting shadows. In the past I have explored ways of using powdered glass in an ancient technique called Pate de Verre and also using frit, small chips of glass, to make patterns that are then stretched into vases. Come and talk to me about the glass and I will show you some of the different ways to create with it, including freezing it into interesting shapes!
There will be a number of very skilled artists exhibiting at this venue across a broad range of disciplines.
