Energy and freedom are expressed in bird paintings on old wood fragments, and in richly textured collage. I love to make use of torn up old sketches, scribbles, textures and try-outs to assemble into delightfully informal landscape. Renewed beads and necklaces made from adapted papier-mâché are also on show.
My recent work included illustrations for a modern retelling of an ancient myth – a tale of losing and finding set in ancient Crete. The age-old fragments found in the museum at Heraklion provide inspiration and suggest intriguing stories.
Following last year’s success you may find pizza and barista coffee being served at our roadside gazebo.
There will also be demonstrations by my partner Colin Purdy, of beaten metal dishmaking, and a chance to have a go yourself.
