As a member of the Gallery@The Guild in Chipping Campden her work can always be seen there. The Gallery is open daily from 10am – 4pm.

Robin can be found there a couple of mornings a month and is always happy to chat about her work or work by other members.

Her Headline Exhibition at the Gallery@the Guild will be open from  October 2nd – November 26th

Biography

Robin has been creating ceramics since setting up her workshop in Stratford upon Avon in the 70’s. Her work has always been inspired by the diverse landscapes she has experienced from childhood. Growing up in Northern Ireland and Yorkshire prior to studying ceramics at Loughborough College of Art and before moving to Warwickshire where she now lives and works.

With a preference for wild open spaces and wildlife she has been drawing inspiration from regular trips to Orkney and the Outer Isles, Cornwall as well as revisiting Yorkshire and Ireland. Her work explores the interface between land, sea and sky which continues to provoke a sense of continuity between past and present.  The wealth of atmospheric light, colour and texture provide multiple  perspective for her work

Working from a tiny workshop, overlooking her garden, in the centre of Stratford upon Avon, she creates a range of sculptural and decorative ceramics, using porcelain and stoneware for interior and garden environments. Her work is all hand built and depends on the elements of chance to capture moments in time. The work incorporates impressions of natural and man-made elements, past and present, capturing memories of a moment, in clay.  Over the past few years Robin has been exploring the use of textiles and paper in combination with porcelain to create collages that enhance the atmospheric qualities of her imagery.
