Biography

From a background in Textile design at Central St Martins London, Eleanor has worked in printed textiles, and stencilled and paint effects in private houses, hotels and cafes. After running a stencil company  her love of storytelling brought her to Illustration and several books were published. Recycling waste materials is a keen interest and has resulted in many paintings of birds on fragments of old fence panels. The beads too, are made from waste paper fibre. Now collage is her main activity and this enables both subtle and vibrant use of pattern and texture. At present she is engaged in production of 12 linked collage which illustrate the 12 months of the year inspired by her walks down the Greenway near where she lives in Offchurch. She  runs workshops in collage and bead and necklace making. She exhibits regularly with Lighthaus Arts and Leamington Studio Artists where she was recently Artist in Residence. She has been selected again this year for the biennial Leamington Open. www.eleanorallitt.com
