Throughout the event, visitors are warmly invited to enjoy a behind-the-scenes glimpse into life at the studio with pottery demonstrations on demand. Resident studio members — will be sharing throwing techniques on the wheel, trimming, decorating methods, and little nuggets of clay wisdom gathered over decades of making and teaching.

There will also be opportunities to see members’ work in progress, ask questions about the ceramic process, and learn more about how pottery can become not just a creative hobby, but a grounding and restorative practice.

Whether you are a curious beginner, seasoned potter, collector of handmade ceramics, or simply fancy a lovely wander and a chat, we’d love to welcome you in. Come and celebrate handmade creativity, community, and the quiet magic of clay with us.

Biography

At The Ceramics Studio, pottery is about so much more than making pots. Our members are part of a warm and encouraging creative community — affectionately known as our PotFam — where curiosity, craftsmanship, and kindness sit at the heart of everything we do.

This exhibition brings together work from a diverse group of makers, each on their own unique clay journey. Some members are exploring new skills, others have been developing their practice for years, but all share a love of making by hand and the quiet magic of working with clay.

From beautifully thrown functional ware to expressive sculptural pieces, the work on display reflects individuality, patience, experimentation, and joy. Guided and supported by “The Pottery Aunties,” Gaye and Leyla, our members are encouraged to grow in confidence, develop their own creative voice, and celebrate the wonderfully imperfect process of learning.
