My current practice explores how the rules we learn from childhood quietly shape and guide our lives and form how we navigate our existence. My sketchbooks delve into the rituals and routines that form our behavioural patterns, examining the delicate balance between order and chaos, addictions and recovery. Through repeated, intentional actions within strict boundaries, the pieces emerge slowly, each mark reflecting a transformative moment of invested time. As the process unfolds, tension mounts—will the burn fizzle out, leaving only an energy echo, or will it blaze unexpectedly, consuming the piece entirely? The work invites viewers to consider tipping points and the fragile equilibrium that exists between control and chaos. The pieces offer a compelling visual meditation on the struggle for balance and invites reflection on both the comfort and the constraints of order in our lives.
