I will be showing my work this year at Art in Dunchurch one of the larger established venues as part of Warwickshire Summer Arts Weeks. As a mixed media textile artist, nearly all my work is based on free-motion machine stitching and hand embroidery. I will often mix my stitching with other techniques such as paint, print or collage. I see the sewing machine needle and thread as another drawing tool and select a wide variety of threads and fibres to enhance the texture, depth and colour of my work. My inspiration is from the joy of the ordinary and everyday world around me.
