Woodturning, and beaten metal.
Colin scours local woods, rivers, and farmers’ log piles in search of suitable hardwood, which is often gnarled, rugged, imperfect, and weather warn. But it is these imperfections with their unique colours and patterns which Colin exploits. He often contrasts the smooth inner grain with the outer bark, leaving many of his pieces intriguingly natural-edged.
This year in addition to his exhibition in the gazebo in the front garden, there will also be metal-working demonstrations taking place in the wood-shelter where visitors can have a go at making their own beaten metal dish.
