Thistle

Biography
I have been painting and drawing for most of my life but only took up watercolour in 2016 when I joined a group at Warwickshire College. I was taught by James Fotheringhame who was truly inspirational. Sadly these classes did not restart after Covid but I was lucky enough to have the support of the Kenilworth Art Society which kept a weekly meet up going through lockdown via Zoom and met in gardens when were able. The society is 50yrs old this year and so various celebratory events are planned. We have had an exhibition at a local hotel and a workshop [run by myself and Brenda], which was great fun. Soon to exhibit in Hill Close Gardens and have an Art Trail in the summer holidays.
I am also a member of Kenilworth Artists who are exhibiting for OPEN STUDIOS in ST. JOHN’S KENILWORTH.
The name THISTLE comes from my former name of Thistlethwaite; most of my family were called’ Thistle’ at some time. I was called it at school and at Art College.
