Sally White

Media: Ceramics

Biography

The Founder of “Sallypots” is a very talented lady when it comes to clay,  if you have a project for her she will sit down with you one to one and help you create the perfect product.

This could be a plate all the way to a statue of your nearest and dearest!

She particuarly likes to create animals and form them into useable equipment, such as mugs and teapots.

She is very experienced in all kinds of pottery,  from Raku firing, to working on the wheel with Porcelain.

She has been interested in her skill since secondary school, after her art teacher introduced her to clay,  where she developed a great love for that media ever since.

In 1976 Sally attended Bournville School of Arts and Crafts, originally hoping to progress to Vitoria Street in Birmingham to study jewellery making.

However, Sally took a turn and found a great interest in ceramics.

This led to Sally taking a three-year degree course in 3D Industrial Design at Leicester Polytechnic.   Following this Alcester Pottery was born, this continued for several years before Sally married and had a daughter.

in 2007 Sally rediscovered her artistic flame and opened a studio with three other artists at the Jinney Ring Craft Centre that is open until this day, where she enjoys stretching her abilities with throwing, she also teaches others to fall in love with clay by teaching group evening classes and offering one to one sessions.
