Exhibition and News

In 2025 I took part and won  in the painting competition at Compton Verney, and I’m delighted to share that this led to an invitation to exhibit at the Leamington Art in the Park Festival on 1–2 August 2026.

I’m currently creating a new series of paintings titled One is All, All is One, a body of work inspired by my hope to encourage greater compassion, acceptance of diversity, and a sense of shared belonging in our world. Through these pieces, I aim to express the idea that every individual is part of a greater whole—and that the whole is reflected in each of us.

Biography

 

Popi Koutentaki is a UK‑based artist from Crete whose work blends dynamic linework, vibrant color, and symbolic abstraction. She works with oils, acrylics and with the rich, ancient medium of encaustic painting—wax, resin, and pigment—reviving a rare and luxurious art form within her contemporary practice.  Trained in Art and Design in both the United States and the United Kingdom, her multidisciplinary approach spans painting with watercolour and  egg-tempera, needle felting, textiles , and traditional Cretan crafts.  Popi K has exhibited internationally in Greece, the USA, France, Italy, Cyprus, and the UK. A dedicated arts educator, she has created public and private murals, illustrated sixteen children’s books, and is currently developing a Mandala series and a children’s book focused on marine conservation
