Biography

Artist Statement – Griggsy

Creativity has been a lifelong necessity for me. I design and create in an intuitive, spontaneous way, allowing materials and ideas to evolve naturally through the making process.

Working across a range of mediums — including wire, leather, textiles, and linoleum — I am drawn to three-dimensional forms that invite touch and interaction. Being physically engaged with materials allows me to become completely absorbed, where time dissolves and making becomes instinctive.

Sustainability sits at the heart of my practice. I am passionate about up-cycling materials that are no longer fit for their original purpose, transforming them into objects that are beautiful, quirky, and entirely unique.

Creating The Griggsy Bags brings together my love of functional design, hands-on making, and environmental responsibility — each piece crafted to be both practical and expressive, with its own story to tell.
