Biography
I was born in Poland and arrived in GB in 1970s. I worked in Leicester as an Electronic Design Engineer and after 8 years retrained as Secondary Mathematics Teacher. I have a PhD from the University of Warwick in Mathematics Education.
My grandfather was a well-known architect in Warsaw and a watercolour painter. He was a great influence on my love for art.
I started playing with watercolours soon after arriving in GB and enjoyed painting birds and animals. I had soon expanded to using gouache to paint animal fur and birds’ feathers.
With time I have added acrylics and water-soluble oils to my painting mediums.
I belong to Kenilworth Art Society, Coventry and Warwickshire Society of Artists, Kenilworth Artists and Leamington Studio Artists.
After attending Helen Clew’s mosaic workshop, I never looked back. My mosaic work also influenced my paintings, which have become much bolder in colour.
I love painting and making mosaics including animals and flowers.
I participated in the Warwickshire Open Studios for the third time this.
For the last ten years I had been organising the Rotary Art Exhibitions at the Holiday Inn Kenilworth, from which all the profits went to the local charities.
