An Introduction to painting a Floral Still Life in Oils

Join Rachel for a relaxed workshop where you’ll create a beautiful still life floral painting using oil paints. Working from a photo reference, Rachel will guide you step by step through the process, sharing the techniques she uses in her own work.
This workshop is perfect for beginners or anyone curious about trying oils for the first time, and offers a wonderful opportunity to learn how Rachel develops her paintings in her style.

Suitable for adults of all abilities

You will need to bring along the following materials:
1 x 1 cm wide flat brush
1 x 1cm wide filbert (rounded) flat brush
1 x thin flat brush for detail
1x soft brush for blending, also worth bringing some extra brushes along.
Palette knife – flat chisel edged

Colours – Titanium White, Ivory Black, Ultramarine Blue, Quinacridone Rose or another dark pink, a bright yellow like Bright Yellow Lake or Lemon Yellow, Burnt Umber and Transparent Red Oxide.

Tea, coffee & biscuits will be supplied
