Exhibition and News
In 2025 I am taking part in Summer Art Weeks (21 June to 05 July), Art in the Park in Leamington Spa (02-03 Aug), and have an exhibition with 3 others at East Lodge in Jephson Gardens in October. I am available for studio visits at any time, where you can see current works in progress and a gallery of all of my work for sale.
Biography
I have always been creative, enjoying art and crafts as a child, and though these interests lay relatively dormant throughout my teens and twenties, I took up oil painting and drawing classes in 2009 and have not looked back!
I find oils extremely satisfying to work with, the texture and fluidity of them as well as the beautiful colours and the ability to layer a painting to achieve depth.
The natural world is an endless source of inspiration; sky, sea, mountains, valleys, plants, flowers, and the elements. I usually paint from memories from my travels to places such as Sweden, Africa, Canada and the countryside and coast of the UK (particularly Scotland and Norfolk).
I tend towards creating medium and large scale pieces, as I find this gives me the freedom to be expressive, instinctive and experimental in my approach without being confined to the tight boundaries of a small canvas. I create many of my marks using palette knives, which also gives me more freedom and expression than the precision of a brush.
