I will be exhibiting both paintings and calligraphy in a home environment. Light and atmosphere play an important part in my work as does the subtle use of colour. I often use different techniques as a way of exploring a subject – from splattering paint to using a palette knife to using thin glazes. I love using gold leaf, acrylic inks, gouache and watercolour as a way of expressing words and letters through calligraphy. There will be a chance to see the equipment I use and chat about workshops and classes for both painting and calligraphy. As part of my expression as an artist I love to share what I am learning with others by teaching groups and individuals.
