Sarah Methuen's exploration of energy, existence and healing manifests into unique and colourful paintings. To some they are abstract, to some they depict a place or time. What will they mean to you?
Her paintings draw on her exploration into energy, humanity and healing. She uses the spontaneous and unique mark making techniques of watercolour monotype, with the precise and deliberate application of gold leaf to accomplish a tension between the perfect and imperfect. She strives to create energy in the work, composing the pieces so that they respond to the changing light in a space and move beyond the essence of two dimensions.
Sarah holds a Master’s Degree in Fine Art and began her early creative career as a prop maker for The Royal Shakespeare Company.
