I am Soma, an Indian folk artist based in Warwick. My brand is Soma Folk Art. I have been painting professionally for more than five years now. I love playing with bold colours in my paintings. I mix traditional patterns and motifs with modern elements and subjects. My art is inspired by folk art forms like Madhubani, Alpana, Indian miniature and Warli. My artworks always tell a story as they are inspired from my own experiences. I tell stories about love and relationships, my own experiences as a daughter, friend, wife, mother. I am fascinated by other inspiring female artists, Indian mythology and folk tales. I want my stories to resonate with the audience, bring a smile to their faces and make them think at the same time.

I have participated in various exhibitions, events and art markets around the Warwickshire area and this is my first time participating in WOS. I look forward to welcoming everyone interested in my home and hope to share my love for Indian folk art.
