I am an MA graduate from the Birmingham School of Art and, as a young artist, I began my creative career as a prop maker for The Royal Shakespeare Company.
The series of work for which I am best known is entitled 'Into The Light'. It draws on my exploration into energy, humanity and healing. I use the spontaneous and unique mark-making techniques of watercolour monotype, with the precise and deliberate application of gold leaf to accomplish a tension between the perfect and imperfect.
I strive to create energy in the work, composing the pieces so that they respond to the changing light in a space and move beyond the essence of two dimensions.
