Burnt and Urnie makes small-batch stoneware pottery in a tiny studio, heating the results to 1200 degrees at the bottom of the garden. There is always an outside chance something will explode!
Having officially run out of cupboard space, B&U will be exhibiting wheel-thrown tableware and vases at Bankside Gallery*, Marlcliff, in the hope that somebody might take a few items home with them. Depending on restrictions, there may also be the chance to watch a few pots being made at the B&U studio just around the corner. No fewer than three Open Studios exhibitors are based in the tiny riverside hamlet of Marlcliff, which is a top spot for a general wander about, with walks along the Avon in both directions or over the fields towards Cleeve Prior.
* Burnt and Urnie will be at Bankside Gallery thanks to the generosity of the marvellous A Crane Ceramics (acraneceramics.com).
