My practice focuses on creating visually striking views of the future for the viewer to interpret in their own personal way. I use both analogue and digital experimental photography to distort landscapes and structures around me into surreal, dynamic images that impose upon the viewer and challenge them to reflect on the meanings behind the image. I often merge both film photography and digital post processing to create my images, this acts as a merging between the future and the past within the medium of photography. The use of colour is a very important aspect of my practice, I am interested in the way different colours can evoke different emotions and the way people attach personal memories to colours. I am also really interested in exploring the ongoing battle between man-made and natural landscapes and this is a theme I explore throughout my work. I love the contrast between man-made structures and nature and how nature is always trying to reclaim its territory.
