Passionate about wild landscape and plants, Robin’s ceramics are inspired by her natural surroundings.
She uses clay in a playful fashion to create ceramic forms and surfaces to reflect the wildness of the landscape. Using torn and textured clay gives her work a rugged naturalistic finish which are then painted in a pallet of her own mixed colours to reflect the light quality of landscapes.
Her work includes garden sculptures, jewellery, and small semi functional ceramic form
Recently Robin has been combining her love of fabrics with her ceramics to create a series of landscapes pictures inspired by her visits to the Orkney Isle, exploring a combination of fabric and ceramic collage to evoke the extraordinary light quality of our northernmost sea-shores.
Qualifying in Ceramics from Loughborough College of Art in 1971, Robin Has used her ceramics to establish a varied creative career, teaching art in schools and organising community arts projects across Warwickshire. In 1917 she established ‘Escape’, a charity using the arts to support health and wellbeing in the community. Throughout she has continued to develop her own creative work, exhibiting and sell in work across Great Britain and internationally.
Robin was a founder Member Clayworks in Worcester with Midland Potters and a member of Potters in Bristol. She is now a member of the Gallery@the Guild in Chipping Campden and the Courtyard Gallery in Clifford Chambers.
