Colour, pattern, texture; these are the things I love. I work in many different mediums and rarely have a ‘plan’ at the outset. I love the excitement and unpredictability of the end result.
I take much of my inspiration from my own photographs (sometimes digitally altered), nature and following other artists on Instagram/YouTube. Over the years, I have taken many part-time courses including photography, flower arranging, cake decoration, photoshop, silversmithing, jewellery etc and then in the late 90s, started an art foundation course, followed by an HND in Design Crafts at Warwickshire College (formerly Rugby College). My specialism was in textiles, particularly felting.
I have exhibited in Leamington, Warwick and Rugby. After I retired several years ago, I had more time to spend doing the things I love and had a studio built in my garden so I could also pursue some of the messier mediums (acrylic pouring, alcohol inks and liquid watercolour inks). During lockdown, I have spent many happy hours in my garden haven!
All profits from sales of my work will be shared between Cancer Research and Crohn’s and Colitis UK.
