My work can also be seen in GJF Furnishings at 74A Coventry St, Southam, Warwickshire, CV47 0EA
This year I will not be exhibiting in person but I welcome virtual contacts and am happy to chat about glass all day long! Click on the exhibition catalogue link under my picture to see a PDF of all my current work.
Since I retired a few years ago I have been able to follow my passions and have been swept up into the world of glass fusing. I am constantly inspired by the world around me and turn to the vibrant colours in glass to represent the things I have observed. Sunlight through the glass constantly pulls me back to my workshop to depict anything from the flowers in my garden, landscapes I have walked in and to the flow of water in the sea. I am a fully confessed glass addict and have no intention of giving up my habit! The excitement I get at opening the kiln after 12 hours of firing and cooling just gets stronger each time.
In my work I use a range of techniques to create my glass and am constantly refining my hand cutting skills, which are at the heart of my work. Other techniques I use are layering powdered glass and frit (small fragments of coloured glass) to make pictures and patterns, creating stencils to use with metal coloured mica, layering stringers (1 or 2 mm rods of glass) and painting with glass enamels. This last technique is one I have recently begun to explore so watch this space!
I am happy to take commissions and love to talk to my customers about how my work can be adapted to fit their wishes.
