Harvington based contemporary artist Emily Burgoine uses vibrant colours and tones to express her love of the countryside and coastline. Inspired by the natural world and places she visits, she aims to capture the rhythms and seasons of nature, its complexities and simplicities, and its light and dark.
Her body of work ranges from detailed realist interpretation and loose semi abstract. Working with acrylic and oil paint predominantly she builds up layers and interest, often adding different mediums such as pastel or chalk for detail. She will often use metal leaf and inks to create metallic sheens as features to pieces.
Emily graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2007 with a degree in BA (Hons) Contemporary Fine Art. Since then she has built up a successful corporate career in digital marketing alongside developing her artistic practice from her home studio in rural Worcestershire.
