
In the summer event I will be exhibiting in my garden with another Harbury artist, Susan Littlewood - each in our own gazebo. Apart from that I have no firm plans for other exhibitions this year but, along with some other artists in Harbury, we may hold a pre-Christmas fair in November. Watch this space!
I was fortunate as a child to grow up in a family of creative people - my mum was a great story teller; my sister is now a published author and my dad was a great sketcher. So I have always enjoyed sketching, painting and writing. Since retiring a few years ago I have been able to spend more time doing what I love - stretching my imagination and developing my skills by trying out lots of different techniques and by attending a great art course at Warwickshire College. One of the things I love about painting is that it has made me sharpen the way I observe the world around me, in terms of colour, light and shade, texture and shapes. I particularly enjoy painting what I call "Cities Reimagined" in which I create a picture using iconic images of buildings and people that attempt to capture the soul of the place,
