Carl March - Introduction to Acrylic Painting
Every Tuesday for 5 weeks.
A step by step programme of demonstrations and exercises designed for complete beginners and more experienced painters. Each exercise will have a clear aim or objective, subjects covered to include colour mixing, brush control, working with a palette knife and sketching.
You will need to bring along the following suggested materials list, students quality ranges will be ideal.
Acrylic Paints: Cadmium Red, Crimson Alizarin, Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Payne's Grey, Titanium White.
A4 or A3 Acrylic pad, A4 sketchbook, old white dinner plate or plastic palette, tear off paper palette, or a Stay Wet palette, water spray, water pots x 2, pencil and eraser, soft rags or kitchen roll, apron or painting shirt
Acrylic brushes - synthetic brushes are ideal for this course. There are 3 basic brush shapes, round, flat and filbert, 1 small and 1 large of each.
Palette knife, for applying heavy strokes
We can provide a materials kit for £50.00 (to be ordered at time of booking) - you will still need to bring along in addition: 1x Old white dinner plate or palette, water spray, 2x jam jars, kitchen roll & apron/painting shirt.
