In my years as a woodturner I have produced a great many bowls. My ambition is to produce the perfect bowl, but, despite being tutored by some of the world’s finest turners, I can’t help feeling that my ambition is still unfulfilled. Many pieces come close, and you may ask what else needs to be done to obtain perfection. Well, I select the best timber, I achieve the best possible finish, I display the grain to best possible effect, and I create the most eye catching profile. One day all these things will come together in the perfect bowl. In the meantime I derive enormous pleasure from my journey to perfection as, indeed, I hope you derive pleasure from the pieces you will see.
