Lisa loves being out in wild and rugged places with the opportunity to step away from the increasingly complex and demanding world we live in.

Her paintings aim to conjure moments of peace or exhilaration by exploring colour and shape through gestural mark-making: expressing memories which are multilayered through time and all the senses.

Some of her paintings result in recognisable visual forms or have a sense of landscape, but often the intuitive interpretation of movement, touch, or sound abstracts the obvious.

Consequently each painting is different and built of many layers. The adding and removal of paint and other materials plays an increasingly important part of her process in exploring a language of colour, contrast, and texture.
