I have always drawn and painted as part of studying for my initial degree in textile design. I see the process of mark-making as essential to my work as an artist. The colour and texture I am able to achieve when using acrylic paint in particular suits the way I wish to represent the natural world. Over the last year I have also been doing more charcoal drawings of animals, particularly horses, which has proved to be really enjoyable. There is a type of freedom when using minimal strokes in one medium that is challenging but also inspiring. I look forward to sharing my work and talking about my techniques during Summer Art Weeks.
