Ilona studied for her BA and MA in Fine Art at the University of the West of England, Bristol. She grew up in Stratford-upon-Avon where she currently lives. Her paintings have been used by Stratford Literary Festival for the Autumn 2023 and Spring 2024 festivals. Ilona was also commissioned to design and paint, in situ, a set of street bollards in Stratford town centre, and was voted Artist of the Year in Stratford-upon-Avon 2023 by Love Stratford-upon-Avon Awards.

She loves the intricacies and vibrancy of nature.
‘Being outside exploring in nature is where all my inspiration and ideas begin. I’m half Finnish and this has an immense influence on my paintings. I visit Finland regularly and immerse myself in its vast lakes, forests and the glorious trees which have been such a strong focus in my work.’

Ilona loves experimenting with the process of painting and embracing the results that this can create. She will be exhibiting a selection of her recent paintings, prints, and cards.
