Following a long career in the water industry, Rod now devotes much of his time to his watercolour, acrylic and mixed media painting. His inspiration comes from the changing moods of nature, which he attempts to capture in his landscapes and seascapes, and from the texture and ‘hidden’ shapes found in natural forms such as tree bark and rocks. He enjoys experimenting with a variety of techniques and bases to add texture and interest to finished paintings.
He is a member of Stratford-upon-Avon Art Society, Stratford Upon Avon Studio Art Club and Visual Arts Forum and regularly exhibits in exhibitions organised by these and other local arts groups. He has had paintings selected and exhibited in the Birmingham Open Exhibition and in the annual exhibition at the Patchings Art Centre, Nottingham, organised by ‘The Artist’ and ‘Leisure Painter’ magazines.
This year, Rod together with his wife Barbara are supporting the work of The Alzheimer's Society through the sales of their work.
