I am a South African artist, also known as oo Kempe, taking the 'oo' as a playful alter ego of eyes peeping into another realm. I like to create anything seen through the mind's eye - both malevolent and whimsical. I am guided by ritual, trance and automatic drawing. I enjoy many artforms and get inspired by the world and stories around me. I graduated from university with a BA Fine Arts in 2018 and since moving to England in 2021, I have continued creating, exhibiting and commissioning artwork.

I enjoy working in print, drawing, sculpture and paint predominantly, inspired by organic forms, patterns and symbols. Switching between mediums forms part of my enjoyment and process. Themes often explored include femininity, ancient cultures, folk art and dualism.

New to Rugby, I am always interested in meeting with local artists and the surrounding community.

I intend on becoming a full time artist and host classes and workshops in Warwickshire through the summer.
