I have been in the art world over 40 years, making and exhibiting throughout the UK, Europe and North America. Drawing has always been the linchpin of my work and I have amassed a library of drawing books, but for the last 15 years I have concentrated on relief printmaking; printmaking that is colourful, textured and patterned. Coming from a painting background I try to push relief printmaking as far as I can, in both the technical and the compositional senses. This means my work varies from what some might call abstract to the very literal, from the tightly drawn to the loose and painterly. I run several workshops throughout the year and around the UK, so I enjoy chatting about printmaking, the tools, inks, papers and methods I use.
