As a designer maker in clay I love using natural materials to inspire my work. The amazing variety of flora and fauna that can be found around my garden studio provides me with a fantastic supply of texture and form to use in my creations. From my studio window I can see Edgehill. Its ever changing moods engage my mind. I use two types of clay to do traditional hand building techniques and throwing on the potter's wheel. Earthenware clay gives me bright vibrant colours which uplift the soul, whilst the more muted colours I use with stoneware clay lend themselves to my stoneware, frost-proof creations for the garden. Over the last 12 months I have also been experimenting with reclaimed wood and ceramics in mixed media pieces. I am delighted that this year I will be exhibiting with a very talented group of nine artists at a new venue. They are: Tina Brooks, Vicki Noyes, Sarah Methuen, Martin Saunders, Sharon Highway, Andy Gill, Peter Murphy, Melanie Charles and Anna Wheeler.
