I specialise in cyanotypes, using the traditional method but with a contemporary twist – adding salts, citric acid and more to create a little chaos. No two prints are the same, which adds to their charm. Most are botanical in nature, but the Enchanted Forest series takes things a step further, creating moonlit scenes with a variety of media. I also create landscape collages recycling cyanotype offcuts. Recently, I’ve been working with cyanolumens (photographic paper coated with the regular solution) and digital negatives featuring local architecture. I plan to display the full range for sale, including mini-prints, framed originals, cards and ‘cyanogami’, handcrafted cyanotype 3D mobiles and garlands. As it’s summer, there should be no shortage of good old-fashioned UV, so during the day I’ll be demonstrating how I compose the cyanotype prints and time their exposure before rinsing. I’ll also be experimenting with cyanotypes on wood and silk. Commissions and ideas welcome.
