I am thrilled to be exhibiting again in the beautiful surroundings of the garden at Inglenook. The outdoor setting is perfect and enables me to show my work in the context of shifting light and natural elements which combine to inspire me with their colours, patterns , textures and structures.
My sculptures, vessels and hangings are hand built in different clays. They stretch the boundaries, each piece being unique and most can live outside, some incorporating water. Shapes are organic and I use glass, oxides and glazes to express my ideas on the surfaces. I enjoy creating pieces with multiple elements which can be assembled in different ways... evidence of an indecisive mind... or the fun of experimenting! I also combine with found natural forms.
Having taught for many years in primary, secondary and tertiary education I am now freelance, making my own work and sharing my passion for clay with others through workshops in my studio and running sessions in the community.
