As a contemporary artist my practice has evolved over many years, from figurative to non-figurative work.
My current experimental work explores expressive mark making, negative and positive space, and the contradiction of lost and found line. I am continually pushing the possibility of chance through experimentation.
In my practice, I am drawn to using a variety of tools, including oil sticks and graphite, to create my marks. Much of my work incorporates found text and fabric. What I love is seeing what happens with these discarded pieces on canvas. More recently, during lockdown, I discovered the joy of working with ink on Indian Khadi paper, enabling spontaneous images to appear.
Visitors to my exhibition will be able to view my framed ink drawings, small and large oil paintings and a number of collages.
